Upcoming Races

November 16th I have the Texas State Stair Challenge. This is a cool race being put on by one of my friends in the Triathlon Club here at Texas State, You run down and up all of the stairs on campus, should be a lot of fun for a two mile race! So if you go to Texas State or are close by like maybe in Austin, be sure to check this out!

November 28th (Thanksgiving day) I have The TXU Energy Turkey Trot race, they have a 10k and a 5k so i'll be doing the 5k competitively. Should be really fun seeing as how I haven't raced in quite a while. The winning time last year was a 16:40 so it seems to be fairly competitive and I'm sure I'll have a good group to pace with even if I don't get down into the 16's.

December 15th I have the Total Houston Jingle Bell Run, this is a 5 mile race and seems to be really competitive, the winner of last year ran a 25:09 (5:02/m) but all of the really good competitors weren't in my age group. The best time out of the 14-18 group ran a 32:43 (6:33/m) which if it stands the same this year I could definitely beat based on my 10k (6.2 mile) time of around 37-38 with hills. That would put me at around 6 minutes/mile. So I have a good chance of winning my age group there and running with some super competitive more experienced runners too. Should be an awesome race right before Christmas!
